BRAND PHOTOGRAPHY FAQs
What is brand photography?
Brand photography is a curated set of professional images that tell the story of your business, who you are, what you do, and why people should choose you. Unlike a standard headshot, brand photography gives you a whole library of images you can use across your website, social media, email marketing, press features and beyond. Think of it as your visual identity, designed around your brand and ready to work hard for your business. Your brand photography might include portraits, ‘behind the scenes’ environmental or lifestyle type shots of your business ‘in action’ or product shots depending on your type of business.
What is the difference between brand photography and headshots?
A headshot is a single professional portrait. Your face from shoulders up, looking great, ready for LinkedIn or your website’s about page. Brand photography is the bigger picture. It includes headshots but also lifestyle images, behind the scenes shots, product or workspace photography, and anything else that brings your business to life visually. If a headshot is your introduction, brand photography is your whole story. Not sure which one you need? Get in touch and I’ll help you figure it out.
How much does a brand photoshoot cost in London?
Brand photography packages with Molly Rhianon Photography start from £699. All packages are completely bespoke and tailored to your business, your goals and your brief. You can pay in full to book your shoot or in two installments if you prefer. For larger businesses, corporate teams and events I provide a bespoke quote, so just get in touch and I’ll talk you through the options.
What is included in a brand photography package?
Every brand photography package includes a full planning consultation call, a personalised mood board, a bespoke shot list, a tailored props and outfits guide, and your professionally edited images delivered to a private online gallery. Depending on your package, additional extras can include a brand strategy document, a 30-day social media prompt calendar, promotional showreel, b-roll video clips, branded graphics and strategic content creation. Full package details are available on request.
How long does a brand photoshoot take in London?
My brand shoots typically last between 1 and 3 hours depending on your package. Longer shoots can span multiple locations, outfits and looks to give you genuine variety across your image library. I’ll always give you a clear timeframe at the point of booking and will plan your brand photoshoot with you in detail.
How many photos will I get from a brand photoshoot in London?
As a general guide you can expect a minimum of 30-40 images from a shorter session and 150 or more from a longer full brand shoot across multiple locations and looks. I work to get you maximum variety from every shoot including different angles, locations, outfits and expressions so you have plenty to work with across all your platforms.
What locations are available for brand photography in London?
Lots. I work with clients across the whole of London and have a good working knowledge of locations to suit different brand aesthetics and budgets, from light-filled studio spaces and independent coffee shops to parks, rooftops, markets and urban streetscapes. If you have a specific location or vibe in mind I’ll work with it. If you’re not sure, I’ll help you find the right location as part of the planning process. You’ll need to budget for any additional location costs for your shoot.
How do I prepare for a brand photoshoot in London?
The short answer is I’ll do most of the preparation for you. Before your shoot you’ll receive a full planning consultation call, a personalised mood board, a bespoke shot list and a detailed props and outfits guide tailored to your brand. By the time shoot day arrives you’ll know exactly what to bring, what to wear and what to expect. Most of my clients are surprised by how prepared they feel. The main thing you need to bring is yourself ideally rested, hydrated and with a coffee in hand.
What should I wear to my brand photoshoot?
Think about how you want to feel during your shoot and wear something that genuinely reflects your brand and makes you feel confident. A few practical tips: bring at least two or three different outfits so you have variety in your images, avoid very busy patterns or logos as these can be distracting on camera, and think about whether your outfit colours work with your brand palette. I’ll send you a bespoke props and outfits guide before the day with specific guidance tailored to your shoot, so you won’t be left staring at your wardrobe wondering what to wear.
What should I bring to my brand photoshoot?
Your outfits, any props that are relevant to your business, products, equipment, tools of your trade and anything that helps tell the story of what you do. If you work with a laptop, a planner, specific products or anything visually distinctive, bring it along. We’ll go through exactly what to bring during your planning consultation call so nothing gets forgotten on the day.
Do you offer environmental or lifestyle brand photography?
Yes. Environmental and lifestyle brand photography captures you and your team in your natural working environment ‘in action’, at your desk, in your workspace, with your products or equipment. It’s one of the most effective ways to add personality and authenticity to your brand imagery and give potential clients a real sense of what it’s like to work with you. It works particularly well for service businesses, creatives, makers and anyone whose work process tells part of the story
Do you offer corporate team photography in London?
Yes. I offer team photography for both large and small organisations across London and the South East. I come to your offices or business premises, bring all my own equipment including studio lights and backdrops, and work around your team’s schedule to keep disruption to a minimum. Please get in touch for a bespoke quote tailored to your team size and brief.
Do you offer corporate event photography in London?
Yes. I provide corporate event photography across London and the South East for conferences, product launches, networking events, brand activations, community events and more. I work discreetly and efficiently to capture the key moments, people and atmosphere of your event. Please get in touch for a bespoke quote based on your event brief and duration.
What kind of images can I expect from my brand photoshoot?
A good brand shoot gives you genuine variety across different image types. Depending on your package and brief, your gallery might include:
- Professional portraits and headshots
- Lifestyle and behind the scenes images
- Product and detail photography
- Location and workspace shots
- Action and process shots showing you at work
- Flat lay and styled prop photography
- Team and group shots
- Social media content across multiple looks and locations
The exact mix is planned during your consultation call so every image in your gallery has a purpose.
Can a brand photographer help me with my visual strategy?
Yes! This is where I’m a little different from other photographers. My approach is strategy-led, which means I work with you to understand your business goals, your audience and your marketing before I even pick up a camera. Depending on your package, you can also receive a tailored brand strategy document, a social media prompt calendar, branded graphics and strategic content creation from your images. I’m here to make sure your beautiful new images get used in the most strategic way possible.
Do I need a brand photographer or can I use my phone?
Your phone can take a decent photo! But there’s a difference between a decent photo and imagery that makes someone trust you, remember you and want to work with you. Professional brand photography is about consistency, quality and intention and provides the kind of images that make your website look like you mean business and your social media feel cohesive. Most of my clients have tried the phone approach first and that’s usually what leads them to me!
How do you edit your brand photography images?
All images are edited in my signature style which is natural, bright and warm with rich tones and colours. Standard editing is included in every package and covers adjustments to light, colour balance, contrast, saturation and minor removal of distractions such as loose threads or bobbles on jumpers. I don’t apply heavy retouching as standard because I want your images to be true to life and as natural as possible. If there’s anything specific you’d like me to address I’m always happy to discuss it, and more in-depth retouching is available at an additional fee per image.
How long will it take to receive my brand photography images?
Usually within 1 to 2 weeks after your shoot I’ll send you a link to your private online gallery of edited images ready to download in high resolution and web-friendly formats. I’ll always confirm your exact delivery timeframe at the point of booking so you can plan your content calendar around it.
What should I post on social media after my brand photoshoot?
So much! A new headshot, a behind the scenes moment from the shoot, a before and after of your old versus new imagery, a post properly introducing yourself with a great photo, the options are genuinely endless. As an add on to my brand photography packages I offer a 30-day social media prompt calendar specifically designed to help you get strategic with your new images from day one.
How often should I update my brand photography in London?
A good rule of thumb is every 12 to 18 months, or whenever something significant changes. It could be a rebrand, a new service, a new direction, or just time for an update. Many of my clients book a year long brand package to keep their content fresh and their visual identity current throughout the year. It also means you’re never scrambling for images when you need them and you’ve got fresh branded imagery at your fingertips.
HEADSHOT PHOTOGRAPHY FAQs
What is a professional headshot?
A professional headshot is a portrait photograph specifically designed to represent you in a professional context on LinkedIn, your company website, your email signature, a speaker profile or a press feature. A good headshot is well-lit, well-composed and most importantly, looks genuinely like you. An authentic, natural, confident you.
How much does headshot photography cost in London?
Headshot packages with Molly Rhianon Photography start from £299. Packages are tailored to whether you need a single individual session or headshots for a larger corporate team. For team and corporate headshots I provide a bespoke quote based on your team size, location and brief. Get in touch at hello@mollyrhianonphotography.com or book a virtual chat using my calendar below.
How long does a headshot session take?
Individual headshot sessions are focused, efficient and typically last between 30 – 90 minutes. For corporate team sessions the timing depends on the number of people involved and I’ll give you a clear schedule in advance so you can plan your team’s time accordingly and around 15 – 20 minutes per person for large teams is usually plenty of time.
How many headshot images will I receive?
For individual sessions you’ll typically receive a selection of the best images from your shoot to choose from, or you can select your favourites on the day. For corporate sessions I provide a curated selection per person. The exact number depends on your package and I’ll confirm this at the point of booking.
I feel awkward or nervous in front of a camera, can you help?
Absolutely! The vast majority of my clients feel exactly the same way before their photoshoot. My sessions are relaxed and informal with gentle guidance throughout so you always know what to do, where to look and what to do with your hands. I specialise in putting people at ease in front of the camera and my aim is to capture images that feel natural and confident rather than stiff and posed. Most people are genuinely surprised by how quickly they relax and how much they actually enjoy their session!
What should I wear to my headshot photoshoot?
Your usual professional outfits work perfectly well, business smart or smart casual depending on how you normally present yourself and the context you need the headshots for. A few practical tips: solid colours tend to photograph better than busy patterns, mid-tones work better than very bright whites or very dark blacks, and bringing a jacket or an extra layer gives you variety in your shots. I usually suggest a couple of options with different levels of formality, ties and jackets on and off, for example, so you have a range of images to choose from. If you’re unsure, bring a couple of options and I can help you decide on the day.
Can you come to my workplace for headshots in London?
Yes. For corporate and team headshots I come directly to your offices or business premises across London and the South East. This is often the most practical option for larger teams as it minimises disruption to your working day and means your staff don’t need to travel anywhere. Just let me know your location and team size and I’ll put together a quote for you.
Do I need to provide any equipment for a workplace headshot session?
No. I bring everything needed to create studio-quality headshots at your premises, including professional lighting, backdrops and all camera equipment. All you need to provide is a suitable space — I can work in most environments including offices without natural light or windows. I’ll advise on the ideal room size and setup during our pre-shoot call.
How do you edit headshot images?
All my headshot images are edited to be natural, consistent and professional. My standard editing includes adjustments to light, contrast, colour balance and colour tones so that every image in your set looks cohesive. I keep retouching light because I want your headshots to look like you, not an airbrushed version of you that your clients won’t recognise when they meet you in person. If there’s anything specific you’d like me to address I’m always happy to discuss it, and more in-depth retouching is available at an additional fee.
How long will it take to receive my headshot images?
My turnaround for headshots is fast and ranges anywhere from the next business day up to 2 weeks depending on the type and scale of the session. For corporate team sessions I’ll give you a confirmed delivery date at the point of booking. All images are delivered via a private online gallery in high resolution and web-friendly formats ready to use immediately.
Can I choose my favourite headshot images?
Yes. For individual sessions you can usually select your favourites on the day during your timeslot, or if you’d prefer a bit more time to decide, or want to canvass opinions from colleagues I can provide a curated selection for you to review afterwards.
What industries do you photograph headshots for?
I’ve worked with professionals from a huge range of backgrounds and industries including actors, authors, artists, architects, designers, psychologists, therapists, coaches, solicitors, accountants, academics, entrepreneurs, child models and solo business owners and female founders of all kinds. My aim is always to capture a true likeness and an essence of who you are, whatever industry you work in.
What is the difference between a headshot and a LinkedIn photo?
A LinkedIn photo is a headshot, just used in a specific context. The term headshot covers any professional portrait used to represent you professionally, whether that’s on LinkedIn, your company website, a speaker profile, a press feature, an author bio or an internal directory. The same image can often be used across all of these, which is one of the things that makes a good professional headshot such a worthwhile investment!
Do you offer mini headshot days in London?
Yes. I run mini headshot days in London throughout the year. These short, focused sessions are designed to get you a brilliant professional headshot quickly and without the need for a full individual booking. They’re perfect for solo entrepreneurs, creatives and professionals who need an updated headshot for LinkedIn, their website or press features.
