The process of becoming a mother is known as your matrescence. It starts during your pregnancy, and I know that for me at least, I don’t think it will ever really end. I experienced it as a seismic shift in identity that accompanied my daughter’s arrival. Some intense emotions and a deep feeling of connection to this tiny new human I’d brought into the world.
Whether this is your first baby, or your fifth, I want to help you celebrate your journey into motherhood.
My maternity and newborn photoshoots are focussed around capturing all of the excitement and anticipation that comes before the arrival of your new baby, and marking their first few days or weeks of life as part of your new family.

I’ll help you choose the perfect maternity outfit, and we’ll plan some fun activities to do with your newborn and siblings so you can all just relax whilst I capture it all on camera.

I offer relaxed and natural studio maternity and newborn photoshoots in Sydenham, South London, where your family’s personality and style can take centre stage. My studio photoshoots are a fabulous experience and if you’ve never been to a professional photography studio before, then you’re in for a treat.
I use simple, minimal props, beautiful studio lighting, and a whole array of different coloured backdrops to create natural maternity and newborn photographs that are completely and utterly you.
Newborn photographer in South London
Hold on to that perfect little newborn baby bubble. Ours lasted two beautiful utterly joyful (and sleep deprived!) weeks together with our new little girl.
It was just a beautiful little bubble of time for ourselves before we invited any visitors over, to get to know one another, to recover, and I’ll always remember so clearly the incredible bond we formed as a new little family during that time. Just us, figuring out who this tiny new human is, leaving the house together for the first time (er, how do we work this pram again?), and us singing and dancing with our newborn to get her to sleep.
I don’t have many pictures from that time though, and I truly wish I did. I was too caught up in the ‘doing’ of new motherhood to step back and really capture it, and I’d do anything to go back to that time in our lives, it lasted such a short time. For me, family photographs are truly a part of life.
